Calendar Stick Page
Each illustration in the calendar stick corresponds to a chapter in the book The Foundered Mule. The calendar stick is a diary. By running ones fingers over each of the etchings on the stick, one can recount one's history. Traditionally it was used as a means of keeping the official tribal history, but it is frequently used as a personal record, or a family timeline. You can see a quote from each chapter by clicking on the corresponding section of the calendar stick on the left.
